DISNEYLAND AFTER DARK: Pride Night

Updated: Nov 3, 2023

Disneyland, and the broader Disney company, have recognized Pride Month's significance and shown increasing support for the LGBTQ+ community over the years. The "After Dark" events have grown in popularity over the years, with various themes that cater to different audiences and interests. During Pride Month in June, Disneyland After Dark will bring the first-ever "Pride Nite" for two unforgettable evenings at Disneyland Resort! Any event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community aligns with Disney's ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite is a separately ticketed event that celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and allies, and will be held on June 13 and 15, 2023, inside Disneyland Park. This after-hours event includes themed entertainment, Disney characters, one-of-a-kind photo opportunities, specialty menu items, event merchandise, and more! It begins with a three-hour pre-party mix-in from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT, then the private party runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. PT when guests can ride some popular attractions after regular park hours. A theme park reservation is not required.

In addition to the special offerings during this event, guests will receive unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken during the party, along with commemorative keepsakes including a souvenir credential and event guide map.

If you're planning to attend or host a gathering to celebrate "Disney After Dark: Pride Night" at Disneyland Park, here are some ideas and tips to make the most of it:

  1. Wear Your Pride: Encourage attendees to wear rainbow colors or other pride symbols. Disney-themed LGBTQ+ merchandise like pins, t-shirts, and ears might also be available.

  2. Plan Ahead: "After Dark" events usually mean limited ticket availability. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance, and research if any special experiences or character meet-and-greets are happening that night.

  3. Capture the Moment: There will likely be special photo opportunities available. Don't forget to use any event-specific hashtags when sharing your photos on social media.

  4. Entertainment: Look out for special shows, parades, or fireworks that might be unique to the Pride Night celebration.

  5. Ride & Explore: Some attractions might have shorter wait times than usual since the event capacity is typically lower than a regular day.

  6. Special Eats and Treats: Check if there are any themed foods, drinks, or treats available specifically for the event.

  7. Pride Flags and Symbols: If you'd like, carry small flags or other pride symbols. This will not only show your support but can also act as a fun prop for photos.

  8. Meet Like-minded People: These themed nights are a great opportunity to meet and bond with other Disney and Pride enthusiasts. Don't be shy; share experiences, trade pins, and make new friends!

  9. Stay Informed: Make sure to grab a guide map or check the Disneyland app for any event-specific offerings, as things can change or be added last minute.

  10. Respect and Inclusion: While this is a night to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, everyone is there to have fun and enjoy the magic of Disney. Be respectful and kind to everyone, and make sure to include all in the festivities.

  11. Stay Safe: As with any public event, be mindful of your belongings, stay hydrated, and be aware of your surroundings.

Lastly, take a moment to appreciate the significance of the event. Not too long ago, an official Pride event at a major theme park would have been unthinkable. Celebrating the progress made, while also understanding there's more work to be done, is key to appreciating such nights. Enjoy the magic, the community, and the celebration!
